“ | I don't make mistakes. I'm not "just like the rest of you." I'm stronger. I'm smarter. I'm better! I AM BETTER! I'm not some weak-kneed fucking crybaby, that goes around fucking apologizing all the time, and why the fuck would you want me to be? All my life, people have tried to control me. My whole life. Rich people, powerful people have tried to muzzle me, cancel me, keep me impotent and obedient, like I’m a fucking puppet. You know what? It worked. Because I allowed it to work. And guess what? If they can control me, then you can bet your ass they can control you. They already do. You just don't realize it. I'm done. I am done apologizing, I am done being persecuted for my strength. You people should be thanking Christ that I am who and what I am, because you need me. You need me to save you. You do. I am the only one who possibly can. You're not the real heroes. I'm the real hero. | „ |
Backstory[]
Homelander is one of the main characters in the Amazon series The Boys. He's the world's most powerful superhero and leader of the greatest group of them, The Seven. Homelander, along with every other superhero, is the product of experiments with refined Compound V, a chemical developed by Nazi Germany used to grant superhuman powers, by the Vought-American corporation to create superheroes for merchandising profit.
Homelander was raised like a lab rat in a facility to keep others safe from his powers. Throughout his childhood he was subject to multiple experiments to test his strength all while the staff maintained their distance and feared him. The scientists in charge eventually regretted not socializing him with a family, as a lack of love and care led him to develop a warped sense of right, wrong, love and connection. As he grew into adulthood he developed a love for superheroes, the original hero Soldier Boy in particular, as they represented the closest thing to equals in his eyes and despite being powerful were not feared but loved. In public he emulates heroic behavior, acting modestly and with extraordinary righteousness and amiability towards others, a facade he alternates between hating or sadistically enjoying, especially when used on people who know his true colors.
As a self-proclaimed god, Homelander enjoys being able to do anything that he wants but feels secretly lonely due to being superior to everyone else. He would develop a toxic relationship with Madelyn Stillwell, an older woman than himself who was the Vice President of Vought International, the company that owned The Seven. She seduced Homelander in a sexual manner by playing mother to him and managed to be the only person Homelander cared about, corrupting him even further by forcing him to maintain perfect standards, manipulating and lying to him in ways that didn't go unnoticed, ultimately resulting in Homelander killing her.
Afterward, Homelander would have a new person he would seem to care about, a son he had with a woman he raped 8 years prior, Ryan. Homelander now dedicated himself to seeking Ryan's approval as a father while trying to raise him in his image.
Profile[]
Tier: At least 8-A+, possibly Low 7-C+
Name: John Gillman, Homelander
Origin: The Boys (TV Series)
Gender: Male
Age: 41
Classification: Human
Powers and Abilities[]
Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Flight (Shown here), Energy Projection (Can shoot laser eyes), Enhanced Senses (Can hear from very far distances, nearly up to 200,000 Hz, compared to humans who can hear from 20 - 20,000 Hz. Has X-ray vision), Social Influencing (Kept the support of his fans for so many years. Even after killing an innocent man, dating a Nazi and getting exposed for locking Maeve up. His crowd straight up cheered for him when he killed a random person)
Statistics[]
Attack Potency: At least Multi-City Block level+, possibly Small Town level+ (Soldier Boy is stated to be nearly as strong as Homelander, meaning that Homelander should overall be stronger than him. Soldier Boy himself can damage Homelander, and Homelander could fight relative to Butcher, who could fight relative to Soldier Boy)
Durability: At least Multi-City Block level+, possibly Small Town level+ (Was able to take an explosion from a nuclear powerplant with no visible damage taken)
Travel Speed: Hypersonic+ (Can fly fast enough to save Butcher from an house explosion)
Combat Speed: Hypersonic+ (One shot Black Noir before he can react to him, who can react an enraged Homelander's lasers.)
Lifting Strength: Class M (Bent a steel bar. Stronger than Stormfront who can fling anything lighter than a 747 out of her path, he also implied he could lift a 747 if it were on the ground)
Striking Strength: At least Multi-City Block Class+, possibly Small Town Class+
Stamina: Athletic (Comparable to Maeve, who can continue to fight Homelander despite having her eye gauged out and arm burned up)
Range: Standard melee range, tens of meters with Laser Eyes.
Intelligence: Above Average (is a master manipulator, and was able to hide his crimes for several years)
Equipment[]
Standard Equipment: None notable
Other[]
Standard Tactics: Starts the fight by attempting to quickly end you with his laser eyes. If that doesn't work, then he'll attempt to ram into you and fight you hand 2 hand.
Weaknesses: X-Ray vision cannot see through zinc. His god-complex makes him megalomaniacal, egotistical, narcissistic, and short-tempered. Loud noises can mess with his super-hearing, but he's adapted to this weakness a bit more.
Note: While every nuke would include the Tsar Bomba, there’s reasons why the statement likely wouldn’t include that bomb. For one, at this moment in time, only Russia had access to the Tsar Bomba, so it’s not very likely that they had used that specific nuke on him. The second issue is that someone who is considered nearly as strong as Homelander himself was stated to be able to die to Hydrogen bombs which include the Tsar Bomba, so it’s very likely that Homelander wouldn’t get the 7-B+ rating.
